Texas: Risk of executions resuming

A recent article reports that there remains a risk of executions resuming in Texas. Kristin Cuellar, executive director of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty told ABC that there is a concern that “the death penalty will continue to be pursued in an arbitrary manner that has more to do with geography than the circumstances of the crime itself.

Texas currently has 174 people facing the death penalty. One of these people is Harvey Earvin who was a teenager when he was convicted of killing an employee during a robbery in 1976.
