Texas Supreme Court temporarily stays execution of Robert Roberson

Robert Roberson has spent over 20 years on death row for the wrongful conviction of murdering his 2-year-old daughter under the now- debunked scientific theory called "shaken baby hypothesis".

Despite credible evidence proving Mr Roberson's innocence, on July 1 2024, Mr Roberson's execution was set to occur on 17 October 2024.  However, Mr Roberson's execution was halted hours before he was set to be executed after a temporary restraining order was issued. The Texas Supreme Court reinstated the temporary restraining order requested by the Texas lawmakers for Mr Robert Roberson.

Mr Roberson's fate remains uncertain, as whilst he is scheduled to testify before the Texas House committee on 21 October 2024, following that hearing, a new execution date could be set.
